Safety, Health & Environment Award 2009 is to acknowledge the Vision and Exemplary Commitment the CEO and his team has for Environmental Responsibility, concern for occupational Health and Safety of employees and society as a whole.

The accelerated growth of corporates in the past decade has offered tremendous business opportunities. On the other hand, industrialization process has also led to several Environmental & Safety concerns. There is a conscientious effort by leaders to move from "bench marking" to "path breaking" levels and achieve par excellence. It is this commitment and spirit that the Leadership & Excellence Award in SHE acknowledges.

CII Western Region invites nomination to the Sixth edition of Safety, Health & Environment Award 2009 on or before, Tuesday, 17 November 2009.

Scope

The Award is to

1. recognize leadership efforts of corporate in Safety, Health and Environment
2. appreciate innovative practices and commitment to install high Safety, Health and Environmental consciousness among all employees
3. recognize what is it that an organisation does beyond normal SHE norms
4. recognize programmes and projects that promote sustainable development

Who can participate?

You may please send us your nominations in a Soft copy format (Window XP, Ms-2003). Kindly arrange to send us 5 sets of CD’s along with the supportive scanned documents and send it to CII WR on or before Tuesday, 17 November 2009. However, incase we are unable to open and view the contents of the CD due to difference in operating software, we may then request you to send a hard copy of the same.

Selection Process

Companies would be compared and evaluated on the basis of sector and size for the elimination process, before they qualify for the next level.
An expert panel will scrutinize the nominations and shortlisted companies will be invited for the final presentation in the Second week of December 2009 at Mumbai.

Based on the presentations, organisations from each, Manufacturing and Services sector will be further shortlisted for the plant visits to enable the panel members to witness and decide on the best practices. The first three best companies, each from the manufacturing and services sector, based on the presentation as well as plant visit, will be selected and presented the Safety, Health & Environment Award 2009. The shortlisted organizations would receive a Certificate in recognition of their innovative practices.
